Walker's journey to Hurston's life

Alice Walker goes to Eatonville, Florida to find out what Zora Neale Hurston was actually about. She was in need of understanding how she passed away and just everything about her. She is told that she passed away from malnutrition something she didn't believe, later on in her investigation of Hurston's life she find out that she was a woman of over 200 pounds and died of a stroke making it ironic to have been said that she died of food shortage. She also learns that she was a tough, and very interesting woman. She wrote books through out her whole life.
Walker not only begins to understand what Hurston went through, but also compares her own life to what happened to her. Although, she didn't personally know Hurston, she cared because she was a woman of the same race of her. They were much alike and were parallel to each other in the things that they believed. Walker shows her respect and her interest in Hurston's life by making her the tomb stone her family never did and also by all the lies she had to say in order to find out what Zora Neale Hurston was about.

Janie's Blues

Janie is a such a pretty lady.
She wants to fall in love; but she's forced to fall in love.
Lives discontent with Logan, but is not one bit mistreated.
Runs off with a man named Jody hoping to live a fairy tale.
Gets mistreated and abused, oh what a bad decision she has made.
Her appearance are signs of happiness, but her emotions are nothing alike.
Oh Janie, she's such a pretty lady, which doesn't know what she's worth.

Questions or Answers?

This year will be the year that answers and asks questions for Janie. Her marriage is a big part of the questioning. She asks herself why her grandma forces her to get married to someone whom she doesn;t love and why she is forced to get married at such a young age. These questions are answered when her nanny is about to pass away, she understands that all that is done is for her to have a good life and so shge won't stay alone once thet day of her grandmothers death comes.

She asks the questions of how she should love Logan, because she just couldn't seem to find the way to do it. Janie knew that Logan treated her as woman should be treated but maybe that was the reason she didn't fall in love with him. As a result of the mistreatment Logan begins to give her, she goes off to marry another man named Joe Starks a man who she had more feelings for.
